January 27, 2020
Obituary & Services
Debby Teresa Salazar, 64, most deservedly entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, January 27, 2020 after a very difficult, long, and courageous battle against cancer. She was preceded by her parents, Anne and Ross Espinosa; sister, Yvonne; brother, Donald; aunt, Isabel and uncle, Juan Valencia who raised her as their daughter after she lost her mother when she was six years old. She now joins the company of numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who joyfully greeted Debby into Heaven upon her arrival. Debby is survived by her husband of 41 years, "Bestest Friend" and high school sweetheart, Larry Salazar of Ojo Caliente; daughter, Debra Manuele (Joseph); two grandsons, Dominic and Alexander of Arizona; sisters, Emelda Roybal of Chamita, Belinda Tapia (Cosme) of La Cinenga, Mary Ann Abeyta (Elefio) of San Pedro, Macrina Montoya (Rick) of San Pedro, Kathy Mclendon (William) of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Joanne Espinosa of Chamita; brothers, Edward Espinosa (Magdelena) of Arkansas, Chris Espinosa of New Jersey, Michael Borrego (Debra) of Medanales and other relatives and friends.
Debby graduated from Espanola High School in 1975, the final class of Espanola Hornets. She accompanied her husband as a proud US Air Force spouse and was active in supporting many numerous activities and fund raisers for the many organizations her husband was assigned to throughout his military career. Debby served the public as a cashier for over 20 years at Wal-Mart and enjoyed training new employees and created many long-term friendships along the way. She was naturally talented and gifted artist who enjoyed sharing and giving her works as treasured one-of-a-kind gifts. Her kindness and compassion were evident in observing her spoiling the many puppies she raised throughout her life. A humble person, Debby always enjoyed her family camping & picnic outings with the Salazar family throughout her life and will be greatly missed by those she touched in her own special way. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 6, 2020at 9:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a memorial mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. I, Larry J. Salazar would like to convey my deepest appreciation and gratitude for the thousands and thousands of prayers, words of encouragement, well wishes, and positive thoughts throughout this nearly 5-year journey and challenge. Your compassion and caring have made it possible for me to help complete this task most gracefully. Again, thank you and GOD Bless you and your family, Larry.
