Alicia Rael

ALICIA D. RAEL , 88,  a resident of Rio Chiquito, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020.  Alicia was preceded in death by her spouse, Porfirio Rael; son, Tony (TR) Rael; parents, Antonio and Margarita DeAguero; mother and father in law, Perfecto and Vasilla Rael, siblings, Hermino, Jerry, Jose Blas and Christobal DeAguero.  She is survived by her children, Albert Rael, Angela Montoya (Benjamin); grandchildren, Julie Rael, Casey Rael (Rachel), Robert Montoya, Robin Pacheco (Adam), great-grandchildren, Bruce and Scarlett Rael, Audrey and Aubree Pacheco; siblings, Umelia Martinez, and son (Chris Martinez), Grace Chavez (Albert), Patsy Tafoya (Ray), Magge’ DeAguero (Carol); sisters-in-law, Pablita DeAguero, Dorothy Rael; favorite  niece, Trish Tafoya-Manzanares; nephews, Dominic Tafoya, Robert DeAguero, Antonio Tafoya and numerous other nieces, nephews and loved ones; special friends to whom she loved dearly, Velma Lopez, Velma Dominguez, Virginia Vigil, Carla Garduno and Jodi Lopez. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation to Hospice, Claudette, Jode and Lorenna for their excellent care and compassion in her final stages in life. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Rio Chiquito Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Casey Rael, Robert Montoya, Isaac Ike Martinez, Antonio Tafoya, Robert DeAguero and Domonic Tafoya. Honorary pallbearers named are, Julie Rael, Robin Pacheco, Adam Pacheco, Bruce and Scarlett Rael, Audrey and Aubree Pacheco, Wrayanne Martinez, Trish Tafoya Manzanares and Enrique Tafoya. The family of Alicia D. Rael has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
