Valentin Jacquez

Valentin J. Jacquez, beloved son and brother age 38, and a resident of Santa Cruz, New Mexico, passed away on Friday August 5, 2022, unexpectedly. He is preceded in death by his mother Isabel Jacquez, uncles Daniel and Bert Jacquez, Peter DeAguero, Johnny Quintana, Richard Espinoza, Paul Salazar and Aunt Donna Quintana. Grandfather David Quintana, great grandparents Julian and Dolores Jacquez, Leopando and Feliz Lujan, Manuel andJuanita Garcia and Juan Salazar.

Valentin is survived by his father Joseph Jacquez Sr. and companion Carol Valencia, sister Dolores Jacquez and her companion Richard Vasquez, brother Joseph Jacquez Jr. and companion Alia, grandpa Eloy Jacquez Sr., grandmother’s Rosina Jacquez and Savina Martinez, grandfather Richard Martinez, god-mother Maria Salazar, uncle Orlando Jacquez Sr. and his companion Deborah Chacon, uncle Eloy Jacquez Sr. and wife Brenda. Uncle Larry Jacquez and wife Berlinda, aunt Geraldine Trujillo and husband Leonard, aunt Sophie DeAguero, aunt Diane Dominguez and husband Ricky Sr., Uncle Ricky Martinez and wife Anita and Aunt Pauline Gallegos and husband Johnny. Loved ones listed as honorary pallbearers to care for the urn are Orlando Jacquez Jr., Peter and Jose DeAguero, Bianca, Heaven, Miranda Trujillo, Isabel and Manuel DeAguero.

Valentin was a great person with a wonderful smile and easy to be and hang out with. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his cooking and his laughter when he would watch movies and some giggles with his Aunt Sophie who was there to help him grow up to be good man. Sophie was like a mother to him helping him through rough times and loving him like a son after his mothers passing. He was a very loving person who would help anyone in a time of need. He loved to listen to music and watch his dad work. He had a big heart and was always kind to strangers and loved his family and friends dearly.

The family would like to thank the Santa Fe Fire Department and the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Department for helping Valentin and a special thanks to all relative and friends for the phone calls and the support.  Also, very special thanks to JJ Griego for making the homemade urn.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Cross in Santa Cruz , NM at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. August 20, 2022 and the burial will follow at Santa Cruz de Canada Cemetery.
