Tony Pacheco

Tony Pacheco , beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home on May 5th, 2019, in Las Cruces NM. He was born on August 30th, 1949, in Chimayo NM, where he was active member of the community. In his younger years he was a firefighter/EMT with the Chimayo Fire Department before finally becoming Fire Chief, Red Cross Search and Rescue member, and surgical assistant at Presbyterian Espanola Hospital. After relocating to Las Cruces, NM in his later years, he was still an active member in his community. He became a baptized Christian and was an active member in his church. Tony loved his friends and family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was loved dearly by his family and friends, even strangers who were drawn to him by his outgoing personality and radiant smile. Tony was proceeded in death by his parents Antonio and Celestina Pacheco, sister Genara Chavez, brother Arsenio A. Martinez Sr., and his two sons Benito and Adam Pacheco. He is survived by his brother Chris I. and wife Erlinda Martinez, sister Augustina Romero, children Tonito and wife Ashley Pacheco, Selina and husband Travis Iker, Gino and wife Roberta Pacheco, grandchildren Adriana Pacheco, Miakoda Kirker, Evan Pacheco, Ruby Pacheco, and Adam Pacheco, mother of his children Kimberly, and his many, many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Memorial Service will be held on Sunday May 12, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home.
