Thomas Martinez

Thomas “Tommy” Martinez, age 53, a life-long resident of Santa Cruz, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019.  He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.  He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Martinez; grandparents Abelino and Faustina Martinez, Manuel and Carmelita Vigil; uncles Abel Martinez, Herbacio Martinez, Cayetano Martinez, Samuel Vigil, Manuel Vigil, Jr., Emilio Vigil, and Tony Vigil; aunts Genoveva Martinez, Priscilla Martinez, and Luisita King.  He is survived by his parents, Eppie and Rose Martinez; siblings Yolly Martinez, Tim (Myra) Martinez; spouse Claudine Romereau; children Tamara Martinez (Ricky), and Tanaya Martinez (Juan); stepchildren Brian, Kenny, Karlie, and Briannah Romereau; grandchildren Matthew Archuleta-Martinez, Lynessa Padilla, Ivory Martinez, and Diamond Dixon; nephew and nieces Carmelita Borrego (Andres), Brandon Martinez (Nicole), and Alysia Martinez; great nephew Ezraniah Borrego; uncles and aunts Elisa Cordova, Richard Martinez, Fidel (Loyda) Martinez, Mary Montoya, Isabel Torres, Jose (Esther) Vigil, and Alice (Robert) Gallegos. Public Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Jody Archuleta, Sammy Cordova, Brandon Martinez, Chris Martinez, Chris McDermitt, Saul Medina, Jose Palomares, and Nathan Velasquez.
