Sabinita Herrera

SABINITA T. HERRERA, 87,  a resident of Truchas, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Pantaleon Herrera; son, Johnny Herrera, James Herrera, Jimmy Herrera, daughters, Linda Herrera, Ruby Herrera and Mary Herrera; grandson, Anthony and Marvin Martinez, Great great-grandson, Alex Romero and James Cordova. Sabinita was a famous Herbalist from Truchas, NM. She healed so many people, not only in New Mexico but from all over the U.S.  She Loved gathering herbs in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, which she learned from her father. Sabinita loved riding horses and spending quality time with her loved ones. She loved going to dances, and listening to music. She was the best wife, mom, grandma, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.  She touched so many loves and hearts. She was loved by so many people. Sabinita was a very special lady to everyone.  She is survived by her partner of 32 years Emilio Gonzales, son Tony Herrera and wife Anita Gonzales; daughters, Shirley Reynosa, Edna Herrera; grandchildren, Jimmy Herrera and wife Susanna, Alicia Trujillo and husband Emmanual, Concha Herrera, Joe Romero, Daniel Romero, Julian Romero, Melissa Herrera, John Herrera, Juanita DeAguero, Davey Herrera, Jeremy Herrera, Deanna Herrera, Jeydean Sisneros, Panteleon Herrera, Anthony Herrera, step grandson Ernesto and partner Kassandra; step granddaughter, Angel and partner Michael and 25 great grandkids and 3 great-great grandkids. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas.   Serving the family as pallbearers are Jimmy Herrera, Pantaleon Herrera, Emmanuel Trujillo, Davey Herrera, Larry Herrera, Joe Romero, Eduardo Trujillo Jr., and Isaiah Trujillo, honorary pallbearers named are Alicia, Vanessa, Concha, Lexi, and Makayla Herrera, Lillyanna Trujillo, Melissa and John Herrera, Marissa and Linda Romero, Joshua Montoya, Annalise and Adrianana Lopez, Jerry Padilla and Nelson Jones. Small gathering and food to follow the burial at the Presbyterian Church in Truchas. The family of Sabinita T.
