Rosina Q. Martinez , 85, a lifelong resident of Cebolla, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 23, 2019 in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustavo Martinez, Sr.; parents, Luis and Dulcinea Quintana; her only brother, Delfin Quintana; and brother-in-law, Gilbert D. Martinez. Rosina was the backbone of the family and was a loving, nurturing, and incredibly selfless person. She immensely enjoyed being a partner in their Flying A. Ranch with her husband, an endeavor that they persevered to maintain and grow all their lives together and which is a treasured legacy that will live on. She was the proud matriarch of the family and dedicated her life to raising her children and ensuring continuance of the ranch legacy. Rosina was most proud of her children, all of whom survive her. She loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.  Surviving Rosina are her children;  John C. Martinez, Joyce Sanchez and her husband Desiderio, Leroy A. Martinez and his wife Donna, Jose Luis Martinez and his wife Haydee, Carol Wood and her husband Jim, Gustavo Martinez, Jr. and his wife Tench; her grandchildren, Marlene Martinez, Gaylene Martinez, Laura Isham and husband Scott, Shane Wallis and companion Nicole Valdez, Luis Adrian Martinez,  Stephanie Whitmore, Daniel Gustavo, Brianna and Esteban Martinez; her niece, Edna Cova and her husband Guillermo; her nephew, Delfin Damian Quintana and wife Pancha; sisters-in law, Francis Quintana, Alice Martinez, and Mary Jo Read. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Santo Nino de Atocha Catholic Church in Cebolla with a Mass of Christian to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Flying A. Ranch Cemetery in Rincon Blanco, NM. Serving the family as pallbearers are all her grandchildren. The family of Rosina Q. Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
