RENEE D. CHAVEZ (Nae-Nae), 37, a resident of Arroyo Seco, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Gurule; aunts, Pauline and JoAnn Gurule, Patsy Martinez; uncle, David Gurule; special cousins, Freddie Montoya and James Fernandez and many aunts, uncles and friends. Renee was a very loving, kind and special person to everyone who knew her. She loved her family and friends very much. Her passion was talking to everyone on the phone to make sure they were doing well. She loved music and writing poems and it helped her cope with her back pain throughout her 37 years of life. Ms. Chavez is survived by her loving parents, Johnny and Christine Chavez; loving sisters, Janet (Rick), Lisa, and Jennifer Chavez (Larry); brothers, Juanito (Stephanie) and Adrian Chavez; loving nephews who she adored very much, Noah and Isaiah Montoya, Josiah Chavez and Zachariah and Jonah Lopez; loving niece, Adrianna Chavez; maternal grandmother, Ruth Gurule; paternal grandparents, Arturo and Benilde Chavez; aunts, Irene Gurule, Jackie Mcwhorter, Nancy Sisneros and Florence Lucero; uncles, Norman Gurule, Ricky, Larry and Gerald Chavez; special cousin who was like a second mom, Lori Montoya and Florence Lucero; best friend, Patrick Martinez; Nino and Nina Ricky and Brenda Chavez; God-sisters, Mary-Lynn Baca and Mariah Trujillo; God-brother, Jordan Lopez and many cousins and special family and friends. She will be greatly missed. You will always be in our hearts, Nae, Nae. We love and will miss you. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church in Chimayo with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz with the Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz. Serving the family as pallbearers are Juanito Chavez, Adrian Chavez, Patrick Martinez, Chris Martinez, Noah Montoya, and Louie Lucero, honorary pallbearers are Isaiah Montoya, Josiah Yogi, Zachariah, Jonah, Adrianna, Michelle, Jessica, Deserae and all of her good friends.
