Pat F. Valerio, 84, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend of many, and a resident of El Duende passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gregorio and Josefita Lovato; parents, Fruitoso and Antonia Valerio; granddaughter, Venessa Valerio; brother, Max Valerio; Sister Bernie Archuleta; sister, Virginia Vigil; Son Frank Valerio; brother-in-law, Sam, Joe and Ramon Fresquez, Maria Martine, and Theresa Moya;
Pat truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as spending time outdoors, hunting, camping, horseback riding, farming, and helping his family with their many projects. He enjoyed spending time with his family regardless of the activity. Additionally, he had many talents and hobbies such as gardening, carpentry work, playing on his tractor, and hauling bales of hay. Anyone who knew Pat knew him for his kind smile, big heart and his willingness to lend a helping hand.
Pat was a Deputy Group Leader at LANL and retired in 1991 with 35 years of service. Pat was greatly loved by many and he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Frances Valerio, Sons; Rick (Mary Ann) Valerio, Patrick (Louanna) Valerio, Leonard (Patricia) Valerio, Robert (Renee) Valerio, daughters; Tina (Henry) Talachy, Camilla Briscoe; grandchildren; Richard (Jessica) Valerio, David (Crystal) Lujan, Adam (Kelly) Valerio, Daniel (Melissa) Valerio, Isaac Valerio, Anthony Valerio, Michael (Lia) Valerio, Amanda (Fabian) Warren, Jessica (Brandon)Cordova, Nicole (Vince) Sing, Brooke Espinosa, Henry JR (Merica) Talachy, Charles (Kim) Talachy, Lorenzo Valerio, Jared Joseph Valerio, Jonothan Briscoe, Jayna Briscoe, Donovan Valerio and 25 greatgrandchildren; brother-in-law, Pete Fresquez and wife Lydia, Anthony Chavez and wife Lourdes, many nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members.
Thanks to all the nurses and caregivers over the past year for the special care and compassion given to Pat during this difficult time. Special thanks to Maria, Myda, Jane, Amanda, Andrea, Iona, and Leticia.
Public visitation will begin on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at the San Jose Mission Catholic Church in Hernandez with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Mission Catholic Church in Hernandez, with burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery.
