Olivama Pacheco

Olivama Pacheco, age 91, a resident of Chamisal, went to her eternal home on July 31st, 2020.  She was born to Victor and Eloisa Cordova on March 13th, 1929 and was the oldest of 11 children, 4 boys and 7 girls.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Eloisa Cordova; father of her children, Manuel Pacheco Sr.; infant son, Roger Pacheco; son in laws, Frank Maestas and Moses Gutierrez; brothers Felix, Ross, Joe, and Macario Cordova; sisters Maclovia Fresquez, Leonora Pacheco, Rebecca Fugino, and Laura Abeyta.

Olivama began to work at a very young age, she was a hard worker and provided the best to her family. She was a faithful woman and had a deep and loving connection to our Blessed Mother.  She always had a rosary and prayed for her family every day.  The love Olivama held for her children and grandchildren was felt by all and she always gave her family a special blessing, La Bendición, before leaving her home.  Olivama was a lunch lady at the Peñasco Public Schools cafeteria for 15 years, she was an amazing cook and she loved to bake, she enjoyed cooking big meals for her family when they went to her home.  She was very proud of her beautiful flower garden and ensured it was taken very good care of.  A strong willed and independent person, you would always find her outside chopping wood and bringing it in so she could warm her home and cook meals.  Olivama was a special gift and treasure to each and every one of her family and friends.

Olivama is survived by her loving children; Bernice, Maria, David (Tina), Ella (Randy), Debra (David), Manuel (Eleanor), Florencio, and Pearl (granddaughter who she raised like a daughter); 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Rosanna (Juan) Abeyta, Dina (Robert) Duran; sister in laws, Vickie Cordova and Lillian Lopez; brother in law, Paul Abeyta; and many other relatives and friends.

A mass will be held on Friday, August 21st, 2020 at 11:00AM at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco with a burial to follow at the Chamisal Cemetery.  Serving the family as pallbearers are; Carlos Maestas, Aaron McNiff, Randy Romero Jr., Renee Pacheco, Cindy Romero, Manuel Pacheco III, Nicole Pacheco, Donna Aragon and Skyler Adams.  Serving the family as honorary pallbearers are; Roger Pacheco, David Pacheco Jr., and Alfred Romero.

Due to COVID-19 we are only allowing up to 75 people which includes immediate family, close aunts, uncles, close cousins and a few close friends to attend the mass and funeral. Masks and social distancing are mandatory.
