Monica Sanchez

Monica Sanchez, 58, resident of Trampas, passed away on February 18, 2020. Monica is preceded in death by her father, Obed Rodriguez.

Monica was a loving soul who was close to her family and beloved by many. She had many hobbies which included reading, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and sleeping. She loved to help others and could usually be found helping out in the kitchen or serving food.  She loved to go camping and spent most of her summers with her family camping all over New Mexico.

She is survived by mother, Rosa Rodriguez; Husband. Fred Sanchez; Son, Manuel Sanchez; Sister, Shirley Romero (Bobby Romero, their children, Jason and Jacob, grandchildren, Adam and Eli); Brother Lloyd Rodriguez, (Pamela Rodriguez, their children, Jaclyn and Jared); Brother, Ronald Rodriguez, his children, Teodoro, Esperanza, (Jeff Lovato, their children, Javier and Emilio), and Santiago; Sister Lulu Arguello, (Joe Arguello Jr., their children, Joe III and Azul).

The services will be held Friday, February 21 at 6:00 pm at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Peñasco. She will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 22 at 10:00 am with a service at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church with the burial to follow at the Trampas Cemetery with food to follow at the Peñasco Community Center.

Serving the family as pallbearers are Manuel Sanchez, Jason Romero, Jacob Romero, Teodoro Rodriguez, Santiago Rodriguez and  Joe “Abby” Arguello III. The family of Monica Sanchez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. 505-747-7477
