Rodriguez, Jr.; sisters, 2 baby sisters named Mary; and brother-in-law, Phillip Roybal.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Lori), and Randy (Angelique); grandchildren, Dominique, Destiny, and Derrick; brother, Gilbert, Leroy (Sherri) their children, Leihani, Therese, Gabrielle; Godson, Nickolas; sister, Matilda Roybal (Richard), their children, Goddaughter, Melissa Romero (Joseph), their children goddaughter, Mariah, Noah, Jonah; Godson, John Romero (Crystal), their children Erin & Isiah; Goddaughter, Angela Dobra (Ned), their children, Ethen, Anika, Karin, Logan; sister, Mary Agnes Roybal and her children, Jeannette Gallegos (Paul), their children Devonne Lopez (Antonio), Rosalie, Isabella; Marisa, Mark; Jennifer Roybal, her children Jaron, Alyssa, Baby Ezmae; Godson, Michael Roybal (Tomasita), their children Elijah & Damien.

A beautiful baby girl, Mary Patsy Rodriguez was born in Superior, Arizona, the only member of her family to be born outside New Mexico. A true warrior, she left this world holding the hand of her beloved niece, Melissa. She was a very bright, vivacious person with a personality that captivated all that knew her. In school, she was always in Honor Society for her outstanding grades and scholastic achievements. She graduated from Espanola High School in 1961. In her senior year of high school, Mary Patsy began working at the Espanola Hospital and was employed there 12 years.

In 1972, she was given the opportunity to work for Los Alamos National Laboratory. Mary Patsy recently celebrated 45 years working for LANL. She loved her job. Her co-workers were always kind and supportive of her. She was always willing to cover a shift for a co-worker. Even while she worked full time, Mary Patsy found the time to take care of her mother and father in their later years. She raised two sons and helped to mold the lives of her siblings, who looked up to her in so many ways. She was a loving grandmother and doted on her two granddaughters and grandson, showering them with love and attention.

She was generous of spirit and was willing to do anything to help anyone she could, family or friend. Mary Patsy befriended everyone she met, she was a free spirit who loved to chat with friends and was a social butterfly. We teased her that she should go into politics because she knew everyone in town. There was another side to her, she was also spirited and feisty and spoke her mind. She made all of us laugh with her unexpected, witty and sarcastic comments. There is nobody like Mary Patsy, with her genuine loving heart who touched so many lives. Whether she was taking off on another drive with Jerry and Lori, riding her scooter outside, or being with her cat, Lumpy; Mary Patsy was always looking to the next adventure.

Mary Patsy’s last words didn’t include anything for herself; she asked that her family take care of one another. May we all take a lesson from this selfless woman, to be a better version of ourselves, and pay it forward in kindness.
