Mary 0ralia Vigil, 72, a resident of Penasco lost her battle to cancer on Friday October 2,,2020 with her family by her side. She had battled cancer for over 9 years and had beat it once. Mary was born on May 31, 1948 to the late Juan De Dois and Petra Lopez. Mary is proceeded in death by her baby girl Stacie Mari Vigil and beloved son Arthur R. Vigil. Mary is survived by her Husband and true love of 56 years Reynaldo J Vigil her cherished youngest son Jack T. Vigil (Brianna), granddaughters Cheryl Vigil, Krystal Gonzales, husband Jake Gonzales, two beautiful great granddaughters Heaven and Mylee Gonzales, brothers Jimmy S Lopez , Gilbert Lopez , Sisters Orlinda Salazar, Rosie Chacon , Carol (John) Valdez, half sister Elise Cordova & family from Utah, Cherished brother and sister in law Eddie, Cleo Vigil. Her Cherished nieces and nephews Fabian Vigil, Kristina Vigil, Janice (Vincente) Sandoval, Amber Romero, Lydia Lopez, Valerie Muniz, Gilbert Lopez JR, Jesusita Lovato, John Lopez, late Lavern Media, late Brenda Lovato. She shared a special Kinship with Andrea Suazo and her kids, Ernie (Melina). Special thanks to the Hospice staff who did such a beautiful job Natalie Chavez, Elizabeth Patterson, nurses Lauren Mathews Dina Gray, Chaplin Corey Zimmerman. Mary was not a stranger to hard work and taking on any challenge. She was a bus driver for St Anthony catholic school for 9 years, foster parent for 9 years. Entrepreneur established Penasco Flower shop in 1987 to 2012 for 25 very successful years. Mary was a woman of tremendous faith. She was very known for being an advocate for children and the less fortunate. If you needed help, she was there to give you a hand. She would feed the homeless, give then blankets, buy needy children shoes. She was also known for her amazing cooking if you came over to visit you were never going to leave with an empty stomach, Mary was the family rock and pilar she would give the entire family advice on how to overcome any issue you were going through. She truly never let life’s curves in the road swerve her from her life goals. Her approach was God will never give you a cross you can’t carry. Friday October 16, 2020 Rosary / Celebration of life 5:30 DeVargas Funeral Home Espanola NM. Followed by Mass on Saturday October 17, 2020 9am St Therese Catholic Church in Albuquerque NM.
