MARY T. AGUILAR, 87, a life long resident of Fairview, went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. She was born in Alamosa, CO on June 15, 1932. She passed away at the Taos Living Center Nursing Home in Taos. She was previously at Fairview Nursing home for four years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan T. & Margarita Ruybal; brothers, Juan (Poncho Ruybal and Max Ruybal, daughter, Christine Evers Aguilar and her grandson Lee Michael Jaquez. She is survived by her children, Larry Joseph Martinez (Priscilla), Virginia Abbey, and her son David Aguilar and her two sisters, Cecilia Marquez, Mercedes Lujan, and numerous relatives and friends. She had six grandchildren Alexandra Jaquez, Clayton Abbey, Anica Abbey, Jennifer Aguilar, Diego Evers, Evita Evers, five great-grandchildren, Shannon Vigil, Cameron, Jayden and Chase Osbjornsen, Angelina Jaquez, two great-great-grandchildren, Raven Vigil, and Saia Abbey. Mary was a very hard worker since she was a child. She was employed by McDonalds Restaurant for several years, she worked at the Espanola Public schools as an assistant cook, and she was a daytime babysitter for several children at her home in Fairview. Mary enjoyed going to the casinos with her best friend Fabbie Cournoyer, Belen Marquez and Sally Gonzales. These there Ladies, and Mary were like the “Golden Girls”. She also liked cooking and dining out with her friends. Mary loved to travel by bus, train, or plane. She made several trips to Seattle, WA to go visit her son David, her daughter Christine and her grandchildren. Mary was loved by her family and friends. She will be missed, and be in our hearts. Memorial mass will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada in Santa Cruz. The family of Mary T.
