Marshall Martinez

Marshall Martinez, 71 , of Chimayo, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2021 in Cordova with his loving family by his side. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Tribinio and Clara Martinez, Daughter, April Martinez, Granddaughter, Baby April Dupre, Great Grandson, Jaystin Martinez, Manuel Martinez, raised like a brother, Cisnel Martinez, Ruben Martinez, Godsons Nick Martinez, Jr. and Elirray Trujillo and many other relatives and friends.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Gloria Romero; daughters, Michelle Martinez, Rio Chiquito, NM; Denise and son in law Joseph Martinez, caregivers, Cordova, NM; Lorie Martinez, Chimayo, NM; Marsha and daughter-in-law Christina Martinez, Denver, CO; 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Evie (Dennis) Chavez, Gloria Martinez, Ercie Martinez, Lollie Martinez, Dennis (Loretta) Martinez and many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, relatives and friends.

Marshall had many friends and couldn’t go anywhere without stopping and having multiple friendly conversations. He worked as an Auto body mechanic specializing in Custom Painting where he was well known for his body work and custom paint jobs. He enjoyed drag racing, carshows, fishing, camping, hunting and just about anything that involved spending time in the great outdoors. He would attend every motocross race, car race, or boxing match that his family was involved in. He enjoyed playful times and cuddles from granddaughters Emmalyn and Melodie. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Special thanks to his exceptional caregivers Angelina, Darren, Leanna, Emmalynn, Dyna, Joseph and Justin and the Presbyterian Hospice Team and those who came from near or far to visit.

-Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 4:00 p.m in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to be prayed at 5:00 p.m.
