We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory
Love Lives On
The Aunt we love remains with us
For love itself lives on
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,
Far as long as there is memory,
She’ll live on in our hearts.
She dedicated most of her life to taking care of her brother and spending endless hours doing what she loved best, her faith in God, the outdoors, mountains and cattle. She was an advocate in dealing with issues regarding land and water rights. A fighter until the end.
She is most recently preceded in death by her brother and best friend Elias Estevan. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Arsenio, Enriquez (Eufelia), Efren(Cipriana) Elizardo (Alicia), Esther (Abenicio), Antonio (Roberta), Medardo, Nick (Sadie) Fidencio (Rose) and Epifanio, Delfinia (Manuel).
She is survived by three sisters-in-law. Dora Velarde, Terecina Velarde and Ginger Acevedo, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In honor of our beloved Margarita a recital of the Holy Rosary will take place at 7:00 pm Thursday June 23, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo NM with a Mass the following day Friday June 24, 2022 at 10:00 am also at Holy Family Catholic Church.
