Marcos Garcia

d. December 24, 2021

Marcos P. Garcia, 45 of Peralta, New Mexico, formerly of Chimayo passed away on December 24, 2021.

Born on September 9, 1976 to Ismael and Ruth Garcia. Marcos attended McCurdy High School where he excelled in football and basketball.  He graduated from McCurdy High School in 1995 and briefly attended New Mexico Highlands University but soon realized college was not the path for him.  Throughout high school, Marcos was employed by EVV Plumbing & Heating where he quickly learned the trade but more importantly realized the vitality of the trades in everyday life.  Marcos joined the Electrical IBEW 611 apprenticeship program and successfully became a journeyman electrician.  Marcos founded Extreme Electric where he became a master in his craft, eventually becoming a lucrative general contractor.

Marcos was always very generous.  He always gave from the heart; never wanting recognition and never expecting anything in return.  Marcos achieved many goals throughout his life but his greatest accomplishment was being a father to his children; Mykela and Cruz.

Marcos spent much of his life providing for his family and making his business thrive.  In his free time Marcos was a collector of classic cars and trucks, enjoyed riding the Harleys with family and friends, camping and hunting.

Marcos is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ismael and Rosa Garcia of Chimayo; maternal grandparents Eliseo and Martha Martinez of Chimayo and father-in-law, Michael Olivas of Mora.

Marcos is survived by his bride Viola of 18 years, daughter, Mykela, son, Cruz, parents, Ismael and Ruth, siblings Ymelda Samora (Chris), Mel Garcia (Alicia), Denise Archuleta (Davey), adopted sister, Sabryna Garcia, mother in-law Jeannette Alcon (Eddy), sister-in-law Mikey Salcido (Ray), nieces and nephews Lucas and Santiago Samora, Esteban and Isaac Archuleta, Jada and Antonio Salcido.

Marcos is being joined on his journey with his cousin Chris Valdez.

Serving the family as pallbearers are Jeremy Lujan, Isaac Gonzales, Mel Garcia, Ray Salcido, Esteban Archuleta and Isaac Archuleta.
