Liria Delgado

LIRIA M. DELGADO , was born on September 12, 1932 in the village of El Guique and left this world on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her home in San Pedro. She was the first of 9 children born to Juan and Ernestina Martinez. Family who preceded Liria in death were her husband, Edward F. Delgado; her infant daughter, Dolores; parents, Juan and Ernestina Martinez; brothers, Frido and Fermin; sisters, Sarah Jaramillo, Amelia Trujillo, and Maria Martinez. Liria lived for her family and will be dearly missed. Liria was a devout Catholic and loved her parish homes of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Surviving her are her children, Daniel Delgado and wife Anita of Albuquerque, John Delgado and wife Klara of Espanola, Maria Theresa Mantelli and husband Tony of Corrales; grandchildren, Estevan and Gisella Delgado of Albuquerque, Christopher and Janka Delgado of Espanola, Dominic and Gabriella Mantelli of Corrales; sisters, Erma Chavez and husband Miguel of El Guique, and Anita Marquez of Santa Fe; brother, Jimmy Martinez and wife Elaine of El Guique, and many nephews and nieces. Services will take place Thursday, April 22nd at the Catholic Parish in San Juan at 11:30am. The family of Liria M. Delgado has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
