Lerrina DeHerrera

Lerrina Reene DeHerrera, 35, a resident of Vallecitos was called home unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Lerrina was born October 13, 1985 in Denver, Colorado to Jose and Denise Gallegos. She moved to Vallecitos in 1986. Lerrina was preceded in death by her great grandparents Zachary and Eva Martinez of Ojo Caliente, great grandpa Alonzo Barela and Bridget Torrez of Denver Colorado, grandparents Juan and Perfilia Gallegos her Tia Brenda, and her Tia Tina of Vallecitos N.M.

Lerrina was a loving daughter, sister, mother, companion and grandmother She is survived by her companion of 16 years Stevan Peña Sr, her parents Jose and Denise Gallegos, grandparents David and Pat Barela of Denver, Colorado, John and Mandy Escontrias of Denver, Colorado; her three kids Charity Chavez, Dillan and Stevan Peña Jr. Her 3 step-kids are Shaniah (Adriana), Jurray Pena and Hannah (Mario); her granddaughter Ryleigh Faith Pena;  3 sisters Melissa DeHerrera (James), Angelina Gallegos (John), and Stephanie Gallegos and wife Monique; brother-in-law, James Tena (Tika); her nieces and  nephews Joseph Jacquez, Adrian Montoya, Neveah  Jacquez, Alize Montoya, Evanjolene Jacquez, Estrella , Elias and Clyde Tena;  Godparents Gilbert and Sandra Lopez of Ojo Caliente and Darren and Dina Vallejos of Denver Colorado, Godbrothers Darren Vallejos and Aaron Lopez,  God sisters Vanessa Lopez, Desiree Piñon, and Alyssa Valdez along with numerous aunts, uncles and family members.

We would like to send a special Thanks to Reverend Joseph, and Devargas Funeral home & Staff and Family and Friends. Public Visitation will begin on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of  DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a Rosary to follow at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, with a burial to follow in Vallecitos Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are Aaron Lopez, Darren Vallejos, Tristan Eskridge, David Barela, Dillan Peña, Jurray Peña, Manuel Gurule, and Johnny Gallegos, honorary pallbearers named are Stevan Jr., Charity Chavez, Diego Devargas, and Nieces and Nephews.  The family of Lerrina Reene DeHerrera has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477-www.devargasfuneral.com
