Kathy Ann Lopez of El Rancho was carried home in the arms of the angels to be in God’s glory on April 28, 2022.  She was born on January 23, 1963 to Marcial and Mildred Rae Lujan.
She grew up attending the Pojoaque Valley Schools where she graduated in 1981. She married Francis Lopez, her husband on February 14, 1986 with two daughter resulting from this union. Kathy contributed to her community in various capacities.  Her most notable was working for the Pojoaque Valley Schools where she positively impacted many youth of the valley.  She was an active member and volunteer of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque Parish where she taught religious education classes, served as Mayordoma at the San Antonio Church in El Rancho, and was an active member of ACTS and the Holy Family Society.
Kathy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Melecio and Ruby Lujan; uncles and aunts: Emerlinda and Tom Lynch, Cora and Maurice Garcia, Gloria Lujan and Steven Lujan. Maternal grandparents Agapito Herrera and Adelia Herrera Porter; uncles and aunts: Albert and Maryann Herrera, Conrad Herrera, Carmen Herrera, James Porter, Estolano Montoya and her Godfather Pete Herrera.  Her father and mother-in-law Andronico (Tito) and Helen Lopez, sister-in-law Anita Lopez and brother-in-law Henry Rael.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Francis Lopez, daughters Elena-Rae (Bobby) and Marisa-Ann (Saul) and the light of her life, her granddaughter Meadow Nicole. Parents Marcial and Mildred Rae Lujan, brothers Marshall (Geri) and Richard (Alexandra) and sister Eileen (Patrick Torres). Sisters-in-law Linda (Carl Trujillo), Bertha Rael, and brother-in-law Jose Pepe Lopez. Her nieces and nephew: Desiree, Suzanne, Katrina, Patrick, and Analyse and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and godchildren.
Her memory will live on through the love and kindness she shared with each and everyone.
Services in Kathy’s honor will be held on May 13, 2022 at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Church in Pojoaque. The rosary will begin at 9:00 am, followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 am, with the interment to follow at the cemetery in El Rancho. MASKS ARE MANDATORY
