Julie Romero

JULIE ANN ROMERO, 48, a lifelong resident of La Villita passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her father, Julian D. Ortiz Jr.; sister, Carla Ortiz; lifelong love Samuel (Sammy) Salazar, and numerous other relatives. Julie was a former employee at Los Alamos National Laboratory and was currently happily employed at Lowes. Julie was a very loving and caring woman; she always opened her heart and home to anyone in need. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Julie is survived by her mom, Joann Ortiz; sisters, Annette Vigil, Denise Trujillo, brothers, Timmy Ortiz and Donnie Ortiz (Brenda); son, Julian Salazar, daughters, Gabrielle Romero (Jerome), Nelly Romero (Steve), Tamara Romero (Justin), Samantha Salazar; grandchildren, Dominic Romero and Jaziah Romero, Jaidenn Gutierrez, Kaidenn Sanchez, Zachariyas Sanchez, Cynthia Martinez, and numerous nephews and nieces. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a Memorial mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. Reception will be held at the Parish Hall in Ohkay Owingeh at 1:00 p.m. The family of Julie Ann Romero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477-www.devargasfuneral.com
