Julia Smith

JULIA M. SMITH , age 61, a resident of Espanola and formerly of Velarde passed away suddenly on Friday, April 9, 2021. Julia was preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta Smith; granddaughter, Serenity Floriano; parents, Jose E. and Theresa Duran; brother, Joe E. Duran; sisters, Pearl, Loretta, and Sandra Duran; niece, Angel Duran and the father of her children, Trenton Smith. Julia enjoyed reading, cooking, and cleaning. Her home was always spotless. She loved her grandbabies and great grandbabies tremendously. She also loved her chihuahua Angel. Julia is survived by her daughter, Terri Smith; grandchildren, Chantel Baker (Adrian), Jayden Baker, Makayla Floriano, Joey Floriano, and Pearlinda Sanders; great-grandsons, Adynn Glen, Aydrian and Ayven Martinez; sisters, LouAnn Atencio (Ben), and Rose Trujillo (Bernie); nephews, Kelly Duran (Trish) and children Aubriana and Ezekiel Duran, Benny Lee Atencio (Fatima), Shawn Atencio (Mary); nieces, Kim Lopez (Gabriel) and children Joshua and Jeremiah Lopez, Pamela Trujillo (Jeffery), Julie Ann Herrera (Clarence) and children Hezekiah, Miracle, and Hope Herrera, and niece and goddaughter, Ann Marie Atencio. She is also survived by many extended relatives and numerous friends. Memorial Service will take place at DeVargas Funeral Home at 2:00pm on Saturday April 17th 2021. Burial to follow immediately at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Kelly Duran, Benny Lee Atencio, Shawn Atencio, Jayden Baker, Gabriel Lopez, and Adrian Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Adynn Glen, Aydrian and Ayven Martinez, Joey Floriano, Makayla Floriano, and Pearlinda Sanders. The family of Julia M. Smith has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
