Joshua Garcia

Joshua B. Garcia, 41, passed from this Earth unexpectedly on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Joshua was preceded in death by his brother, Jacob; paternal grandparents, Walter and Helen Garcia; and maternal grandparents, Bartolo and Helen Valdez. Joshua was well known in the community along with his brother as excellent softball players two decades ago, and now striving to play one more season. Even with ailing knees, Joshua would spend a large amount of time with friends playing ball and supervising officials at the Española and White Rock fields. Joshua’s ability and desire to help his family and friends was tremendous. The help and support he gave his parents was enormous and his family now struggles during his loss. Joshua is survived by his sons, Joshua, Daylon and Isaiah; parents, Bob and Lou Garcia; girlfriend, Jaclyn Valdez; former wife, Nina Vigil,  nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins so dear to him. Public visitation will begin on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A second wake service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. The family of Joshua B. Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
