Joseph Bustos

d. April 23, 2022

Joseph Bustos 49, (AKA Nina) passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2022, just shy of his 50th.  Joseph was born on May 1st 1972 at Fairview Clinic and Hospital, to Wilfred and Dollie Bustos, from Hernandez, New Mexico.    Joseph was preceded in death by his Loving mother Dollie Bustos, brother Kenneth Bustos and sister Amanda Bustos. Maternal grandparents Jacobo and Lydia Maestas, (Hernandez) Paternal grandparents Melquiades and Lugarda Bustos (Chamita).  Numerous aunt’s uncles and relatives.  Joseph graduated from Espanola Valley High School. He resided in Hernandez until 2015, he then moved to Los Alamos, until his death.  Joseph is survived by his daughters Ashley, Kaeley, Shaeley Bustos.   Father Wilfred Bustos, sister Geraldine Montoya, brother Harold Bustos (Trish).  Mother of his Daughters Antonita Vigil, and her parents Norma and Ernie Vigil.  Also, Joseph’s grandpups Mocha, Everest, Snow, Jumba, and Theodore.

Josephs daughters were his pride and joy and he loved them above anything else.  Joseph had a passion for cooking at a very young age, and he was able to Handle a pan and light up a stove at five years old.  Joseph worked for Gilbert Valdez at Valdez Family restaurant, then he moved on to work for his mother, at Dollies Cafe. These experiences led him to his greatest accomplishment, of owning his own restaurant Joe B’s.  Joseph loved to cook for his daughters, family and friends.  He also catered numerous events in various communities.

Joseph was an avid outdoorsman hunting, fishing, camping and going for firewood in the Jemez Mountains.  Joseph always went out of his way to help anyone in need.  Joseph had an amazing life that concluded in a extravagant weight loss journey.  Everyone that had the experience of Josephs presence knew his vocal puh-puh-puh.  Any exertion led to the floating boat of visual expectations, especially his three daughters.

Honorary pallbearers are Frank Montoya, Annie Garcia, Xzavier Pacheco, Phil Garcia, Johnny Lopez, Kevin Petersen, Randy Trujillo and Joe Vigil.

Mass will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery.
