Johnathan Gonzales

d. July 29, 2020

On July 4, 1988 at 2:45pm God blessed and honored LouAnn Cordova with a gorgeous baby boy, Johnathan.

On July 29, 2020 he was called back home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is taking his final journey to Heaven. Johnathan will always be loved, cherished and missed so very much.

Johnathan will always walk beside us. He is the gentle breeze within the wind, the brightest star on a dark night, the fullest moon in the darkest sky, the most colorful rainbow on a cloudy day.

We will miss his laugh, his hug, his protective spirit but mostly we will miss his company.

We are thankful for the time that God lent him to us and for the memories that we will hold on to forever.

Johnathan’s mom, sister, family and friends are so very blessed to have him in our lives and although our time together was short we will feel his love and strength forever.

Johnathan was smart, intelligent, loving, hardworking, admirable, protective, loyal, and faithful. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was a kind soul, generous, loving and boy, could he make you laugh.

Johnathan was so very generous and would do anything for anyone in need. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

Johnathan is loved by so many, especially his mom and sister. The three were inseparable. Where one was found the other two were not far behind. They have an unbreakable bond that will live on. He was there for his mom and sister through all of life’s hurdles, as they were for him. Johnathan’s pride and joy in life were his “Gingys” (Bentley and Riley). There isn’t anything in the World that he wouldn’t have done for them.

He loved his family and was loved by them to no end.

Johnathan is survived by his beloved Mother LouAnn Cordova. His beloved little sister Amber Martinez and Brother-in-law Matthew Martinez. His beloved God Son and Nephew Bentley “Benny” Martinez and Niece Riley “Gracie” Martinez. He is survived by his “Pops” James Donnie Cordova, Grandparents Elfido and Mercebella Garcia and Dorothy Gonzales, Uncles and Aunts Harold and Gloria Garcia, Abie and Loretta Lopez, Albie Gonzales, and Aunt and God Mother Danette Gonzales. Cousins Adrian and Alexandria Garcia (Adrianiyah), Daniel and Annette Garcia (Billi and Mario), God Sister and Cousin Danielle Gonzales (Zac), God sister and Cousin Gabrielle Gonzales (Kristen), Erica and Matthew Montano (Xavier, Caterina and Esai), Kimberly Lopez (Scarlett, Jayzen and Jazz), Lynette and Sammy Rodriguez, Michael Gonzales and Family, Matthew Gonzales and Family, Karen Tucker and Family, and God Sister and cousin Jennifer James and Family. He is survived by his life-long friends Matthew Martinez (of Albuquerque), Matthew “Matchie” Martinez, Ray Salcido, Marcos Garcia, Ron Rodriguez, Teodoro “Patch” Rodriguez, Eric “Q” Lopez, and Andrew Sanchez.

Johnathan is proceeded in death by his uncle, Henry Garcia. Henry was a very special part of Johnathan’s life. He helped raise Johnathan and was more of a father than an uncle. He is proceeded in death by his best friends Johnny Lucero, Shane Arguello and Ramon Lopez. Their friendship made a lifelong impact on Johnathan and he always kept them close to his heart. He is proceeded in death by his father Daniel “Danny” Gonzales, Grandfather Leroy Gonzales, Uncles Leroy Gonzales Jr. and Gabriel Gonzales, and his beloved fur baby Precious. He is also proceeded in death by his Great Grandparents Demetrio and Alcarita Esquibel, Leopoldo and Sofie Garcia, Richard Gonzales, Libradita Gonzales, and Ben and Faby Dominguez.

Serving Johnathan as Pallbearers are Matthew Martinez, Bentley Martinez, Adrian Garcia, Daniel Garcia, James Cordova, Matthew Martinez (of Albuquerque), Matthew “Matchie” Martinez and Ray Salcido. Honorary pallbearer will be Riley Martinez.

I guess heaven was needing a hero

Somebody just like you

Brave enough to stand up

For what you believe

And follow it through

When I try to make it make sense in my mind

The only conclusion I come to

Is heaven was needing a hero

Like you
