Joaquin Morfin., 75, a resident of La Mesa de Poleo, passed away on January 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Eloyda Morfin, parents, Adolfo and Odilia Morfin; sister, Cecilia Salazar, Julia Adan. Joaquin was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, talking and visiting with his friends. He loved to spend his time up in the mountains fishing, working on his ranch, or just enjoying the beautiful scenery. He is survived by his children, Leonard, Molly, Joaquin, Adolfo(Ashley), Chris(Tasha) Morfin; grandchildren, Tiffany, Janice, Benjamin, Eric, Bryan, Gabe, Janeisa, Reuben, Diana, Brianna, Myranda, Haley and Mckayla; great-grandchildren, Marina, Violet, Jordan, Deja, Zoe and Autumn; mother of his children, Ernestina Garcia; 3 brothers and 6 sisters, as well as numerous loving family and friends whom he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Coronado School Auditorium in Gallina. A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Coronado School Auditorium in Gallina, with a meal to follow at the Coronado School cafeteria. Honorary pallbearers named are Ruben, Eric, Brian, Gabriel and Benjamin.
