Jimmy Martinez

JIMMY ORLANDO MARTINEZ , 59, a resident of San Pedro, was born on September 21, 1960 and was tragically and unexpectedly taken away on Friday, June 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tony R. Martinez and Josephine Martinez of Guachupangue and maternal grandparents, Luis F. Trujillo and Eufemia Trujillo of Ranchitos. For those who knew Jimmy, even just a little, understands the light he brought into everyone’s lives. He enjoyed spending time outdoors especially when it came to hunting and fishing. His other joy was when he was working on his 1949 Ford (which he drove in high school) and earned him the nickname “white walls”. He was also very passionate about his cooking and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen preparing meals for his parents. Jimmy worked for the State of New Mexico at the time of his death. Jimmy will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Mr. Martinez is survived by his parents, Orlando and Josephine Martinez of San Pedro; sisters, Yvonne Archuleta and husband Orlando of Ranchitos, Yvette Martinez and husband Rudy Abeyta of San Pedro; nephews, Orlando Archuleta Jr., Eric Archuleta, and Joey Martinez; great-niece, Zoey Martinez; his daughter, Destiny Diomede and his granddaughter, Meilani Diomede of Los Lunas and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in Sangre de Cristo Chapel in DeVargas Funeral home. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. The family of Jimmy Orlando Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
