Ignacita Lopez

Ignacita Lopez , 88, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on October 3, 2020.  She was born on September 6, 1932 and a lifelong resident of El Rito.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Delfin Lopez Sr; parents Luis and Cornelia Vasquez; step parents Luis and Lucianita Lopez; in-laws Julian and Pablita Lopez; her three brothers Ruben Vasquez, Guzman Vasquez, and Vicente Vasquez; sisters-in-law Francesquita Lopez, Isabelle Lopez, and Isabel Madrid; brothers-in-law Bernardino Lopez;  Jose Lopez; Erineo Lopez; son-in-law Fernando Garcia.  Ignacita was a devoted Catholic with a strong faith and a love for God.  Her family was everything to her and always would pray for all her children and grand children.  She loved to cook for her family and for relatives from far and near who came over and never would they leave her home hungry.  She had a green thumb and could make anything grow, loved being outside planting and watering her flowers.  She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.  She will never be forgotten always in our hearts for she takes a piece of our hearts until we are together again.

Ignacita is survived by her daughters Margaret Lopez (caregiver), Brenda Garcia both of El Rito, Lucille Griego (Murphy) of Albuquerque, and Karen Trujillo (Leonard) of Tierra Azul and her son Delfin Lopez Jr of El Rito.  Grandchildren Mariah Trujillo, Shania Trujillo, Luis Griego (Michelle), Jessica Griego (Rick), Crystal Lopez (Miguel), Vanessa Garcia, Tiffany Garcia (John), Stephanie Lopez, Cindy Gonzales (Ardy); Great Grandchildren Catalina Griego, Isabella Griego, Vicente Griego, Andres Moya, Antonio Moya, Miguel Romero Jr, Santiago Romero, Fernando Valdez, Jonathan Vialpando, Joshua Vialpando, Jerrick Vialpando, Destiny Gallegos, Estrella Gallegos, and Essence Gallegos; many other relatives, nephews, nieces and friends.

Public visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of Devargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 10:00 am at San Juan Nepomuceno Church in El Rito, with a burial to follow at 1:30 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Serving as family pallbearers are Leonard Trujillo, Murphy Griego, Luis Griego, Miguel Romero Jr, Joshua Vialpando, and Lelo Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be all her granddaughters and grandsons.  A special thank you to Lelo and Joann Lopez for their visits and for being great neighbors.
