Horacio Manzanares

Horacio A. Manzanares, 89, a resident of Medanales, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Beatrice M. Manzanares; parents Enrique and Estefanita Manzanares; sons Horacio Jr. and Juan Manzanares; granddaughters Beverly Manzanares and Veronica Martinez; sister Claudina Manzanares and infant brother.  Horacio is survived by his children, David Manzanares and wife Irene, Lucy Manzanares, Geraldine Martinez and husband Johnny, Irene Garcia and husband Julian, Carol Martinez and husband Michael, Eva Sanchez, Rose Martinez, Joseph Manzanares and wife Yolanda and Nadine Martinez; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, with a Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m due to COVID-19 restrictions only 56 immediate family members will be allowed inside the church and only 10 immediate family members will be allowed on the cemetery grounds. Burial will be held at the Medanales Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jerry Valdez, Leonard Manzanares, Johnny Martinez Jr., Alex Garcia, Michael Martinez Jr., Pete Sanchez Jr., Joseph Manzanares Jr., and Dennis Padilla; honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren.
