Gilbert Martinez

GILBERT E. MARTINEZ, 60,  a resident of Medanales, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 of a lengthy illness. Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Manuel H. Martinez, brothers, Michael and Tommy Martinez. Gilbert will always be remembered by being a hard worker. He loved being outdoors and he cherished his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Gilbert is survived by his daughters, Monica Martinez, Leticia Martinez (Erick Diaz), sons, Matthew Gilbert Martinez Jr. (Francesska Marie Serrano), and Gilbert M. Martinez (Jessica Valdez); grandchildren, Brandy, Angel, Alexis, and Joshua Martinez, Xzavier D. Diaz, Levi J. Martinez; mother, Anita Martinez (Jose Medrano); sisters, Sharon Martinez (Dennis),Elaine Padilla, brothers, Chris Martinez, Steven Martinez, Johnny Medrano, and Joe Medrano; special nephews, Gabriel Padilla and Tommy Martinez and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Public Visitation will begin on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory will a Rosary to Follow at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday September 24, 2021 at 10:30 at St. John the Baptist Church in Ohkay Owingeh with a burial to follow at the Medanales Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren. The family of Gilbert E.
