Fernando Garcia

FERNANDO GARCIA Jr., a resident of La Mesilla went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 30, 2021, a week after his 80th Birthday.

Fernando served in the United States Army after his tour in Korea, he came home and Graduated from New Mexico State. He worked and retired from the State of New Mexico. He was Onate for Espanola Fiestas in 1988.

Fernando enjoyed hunting, fishing riding horses, raising animals and farming. He loved being super grandpa taking care of his grandkids.

Fernando is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando Garcia Sr. and Olimpia Garcia; brother, David Garcia. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Evelyn Garcia; children, Vicente Garcia (Gwen), Denise Rodriguez, Michelle Martinez (Aaron), April Garcia (Travis) Esperanza Garcia (Jo) and grandson who he raised Gabriel Garcia (Amanda); grandkids, Enrique Garcia, Bryan Rodriguez (Josephine), Vicente Garcia, AJ Martinez, Katelynn Garcia, Angelica Garcia, Aaden Martinez Cruz Garcia, Haylee, Keogh, Eden and Arabella Fernandez, great-grandkids, Jaylynn Garcia, Mathias Rodriguez and Blaze Garcia, brother, Richard Garcia (Ester) and sister, Linda Grisham. Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at New Hope Worship Center in Espanola. Burial to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday November 4, 2021 at 12:45 p.m. The family of Fernando Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. 505-747-7477
