FARRIS GERONIMO GARCIA, 69, a loving brother, tío, and friend, was born on July 28, 1950 to Pita and Antonio Garcia and passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Farris spent his childhood in the beautiful valley of Rio Chama where he was surrounded by his loving family. Farris was the youngest brother and is survived by 2 living brothers and 4 living sisters. Farris was always a happy and fun-loving boy. As a young boy, Farris attended Catholic school in Abiquiu, attended high school in Espanola and later attended the University of New Mexico.  Farris lived in California for most of his adult life.  San Francisco became home where he worked in banking and thoroughly celebrated his community’s unique art and culture. He retired from his California life and came back to live with his family and friends in Rio Chama. He worked for Santa Maria El Mirador and met many new wonderful friends. Farris was a seeker of culture and diversity.  He enjoyed opera, was an avid reader which enabled him to learn about unique historical stories.  He also enjoyed working in his garden and he loved his dog. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was always up for an adventure. Farris was a kind soul and helped anyone and any animals in need. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be held at a later date Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Marco Vigil, Fernando Vigil, XG, Anyssa Tapia, Aleah Vargas, Elijah Gonzales, Toby Gonzales, Annette Montoya, Joanna Anaya, Paula Abbot and Daryl Garcia.
