Ezekiel Barela

Ezekiel (Zeke-ZAB) Barela , 37 years old passed away on October 3, 2020 in his family home with his family by his side. He was surrounded by love. He was preceded in death by his sister, Crystal Barela whom he loved and missed so much. He is survived by his son, Brandon of Alamogordo; father, Olivar Barela of La Mesilla; mother, Cynthia Martinez Barela of Espanola and brothers, Olivar Barela and Tomas Barela of La Mesilla.  Zeke was a kind, gentle and tender soul.  Words can’t express enough how greatly he is loved and  that he will be missed immensely not only by his family, extended family but by his friends as well.  We are comforted knowing that he is now resting in peace.  Thank you, Presbyterian Hospice Team, Father Javier for giving Zeke his last rites, family members and friends who were a comfort to Zeke as well as his family members. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz. The family of Ezekiel (Zeke-Zab) Barela has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
