Evelyn Aragon

Evelyn S. Maes Aragon, 75, a resident of Espanola, formally of Tesuque, passed away on Monday November 8, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Maximilino Maes, and Virginia Roybal. Her parents Alberto Maes, and Sophia De La Saiz Maes. Her husband’s Ronald R. Aragon and Michael Lopez. Her daughters Victoria S. Aragon and Cassandra L. Aragon.

Evelyn is survived by her brother Albert Maes Jr.; son Michael John Lopez, fiancé Vanessa Martinez and family; niece January Lauren Rose Maes; nephews Miguel Maes, and Gabriel Maes; grandchildren Donielle (Eduardo) Marquez and family, Diondra Salazar and family, and Hope Aragon; daughters-in-law Rose Muniz and Anna Baca; son-in-law Sam Salazar; very close friends Theodora Valdez, Shirly Manzanares, Sue Isham, Elena Rios, Lisa Aragon, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Evelyn worked at the Santa Fe State Penitentiary for 12 years, she also worked at Camel Rock Casino for another 12 years. Evelyn dearly loved her family and friends. She was a dedicated Catholic who loved her coca-colas and watching her movies.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Annabelle Gasca, Anna Baca, Nicholas Garcia, Jose Garcia, Jesus Palacios, and Marshall Fresquez.

Serving the family as honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Public visitation with a rosary and mass will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 AM. Following Tuesday, November 23rd, her cremation will take place at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Her burial will take place at San Isidro Church in Tesuque, NM at 4:00 pm .
