Eutimio Lopez Jr.

Eutimio Lopez Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on July 27, 2022 at his home in El Rito, NM. His parents Cleotilde and Eutimio Lopez Sr. preceded him in death and other close relatives and close friends. He is survived by sisters Eduvigen Martinez of El Rito, NM, Sadie Bowling of El Reno, Oklahoma, and Irene Lopez and husband Gabriel of Abiquiu, NM, brother Antonio Lopez of Chili, NM and many nephews, nieces, and close friends.

Eutimio was a loving son, brother and uncle. As a young man Eutimio worked as a Firefighter for the Forest Service on wild land fires and construction as a carpenter. He got injured at a fire they were fighting down in Silver City that caused him a disablement. He enjoyed going to the mountains to pick Pinion and cutting wood or just go cruising in his truck or his 63 classic Chevy Impala. He took good care of his sheep, cats, and dogs. But mostly, he enjoyed his time at the Casino.

Eutimio was a loving son to his mother Cleotilde. When she fell sick late in life Eutimio took care of her at the family home for many years until her passing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family of Eutimio thanks Robert Herrera Sr. and Robert Herrera Jr. for their special friendship that they shared with our brother Eutimio.

As per Eutimio’s request, all services will be private . The family of Eutimio Lopez Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of Espanola.
