Eulalia "Lolly" Jones

d. February 12, 2020

EULALIA “LOLLY” ANITA JONES , was born December 3, 1944 in Tapicitoes, New Mexico to Ignacio and Maria Margarita Valdez. As a young girl she moved to Chama, New Mexico. There she met her true love, Jardy Jones, at the age of 14 and went on to marry him at the age of 20; they were happily married for 54 years and had four children, Derek, Eric, Jolene and Sharlene.

While Lolly’s first job was at the Jones Mercantile, it was her last job, an aide within the Dulce Independent School District, that brought her the greatest joy. She loved working with all the students and cheering on the local sports teams. Lolly enjoyed going to church, reading, traveling, playing bingo at Senior citizens and visiting with family and friends.

Lolly served the Lord with all her heart. She made those around her feel valued and loved. She lived her life according to the following scripture and would encourage all of you to do the same.

Romans 12: 12-17 Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and prayerful always. When God’s children are in need, you be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting guests home for dinner or if they need lodging for the night. If someone mistreats you because you are Christian, don’t curse him; pray that God will bless him. When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, share their sorrow. Work happily together. Don’t try to act big. Don’t try to get into the good graces of important people, but enjoy the company of ordinary folks. And don’t think you know it all! Never pay back evil for evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear through. Don’t quarrel with anyone. Be at peace with everyone, just as much as possible.

Lolly passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 and will be remembered as a God loving, kind, generous woman who loved all those who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at a later time. The family of Eulalia “Lolly” Anita Jones has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
