DOMITILA ARCHULETA (TILA), age 97 years and 10 months, of Dixon, New Mexico, went with our Lord on Monday, July 6, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.  Domitila was born on September 9, 1922 in Dixon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amado Archuleta; her parents, Filigonio and Marina Sanchez; daughter, Amadita “Amy” Sanchez; son, Ruddy Archuleta; grandson, Mario Archuleta; sisters, Sarah Anderson, Lucia Vellajo, Elsie Castillo, Lydia Biggers, Ella Gutierrez; brothers, Filigonio “Gonito” Sanchez, Orlando Sanchez, Albino Sanchez; and a great-granddaughter, Maria Ann Griego. She is survived by her children; Agripiana Martinez and husband William of Embudo, Patricio Archuleta of Embudo, Adonais Archuleta and wife Joann of Espanola, Orlinda Alewine and husband Carlton of Dixon, Rudy Archuleta of Dixon, Lucy Ann Archuleta of Alcalde, Eleanor Duda and husband Edward of Espanola, Celso Archuleta and husband Gus “Diego” Archuleta of Dixon, Frances Archuleta and companion Jose Valdez of Dixon; two granddaughters that she raised as her own, Michelle Valdez and husband Paul of Velarde, Lenora Maes of Alcalde; and a son she raised as her own, Onesimo “Jr.” Gonzales of Washington State; one brother, Andy Sanchez of Washington State; and her two cats, Tigger and Gracey who slept with her every night next to her pillow.  She was blessed to have 26 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren. She was a housewife and worked hard all her life.  She loved farming, dancing, cooking, canning food, had a talent for drawing pictures, and loved the beauty of flowers.  She had many children and she would come directly from the garden to wash up to have her babies at home. Her love and caring for her family was her primary focus, and in so many ways, she was able to show that love with all her heart to her family.  She was an amazing, caring, compassionate, loving, brave and funny lady, and loved being around her children and sitting around the kitchen table where lasting memories were made. She was married for 67 years until the passing of her husband.  A public visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.  Due to COVID-19 a rosary will be recited outdoors after the public visitation on July 13, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. to accommodate her large family and friends. A second public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Christo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a second outdoor rosary recited on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon.  Due to COVID-19 only immediate family will be allowed to attend the Mass. But prior to the mass, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. there will be an open casket in front of the church for viewing so that family and friends can say their last goodbye.  After the Mass, she will be laid to rest at the Dixon Catholic Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend the interment service at the Dixon Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers; Jose Valdez, Alex Gomez, Steven Archuleta, Andres Munoz, Brian Archuleta, Pat Gene Archuleta, Henry Gallegos Jr., Marcos Olivas and Thomas Valdez.  Honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nephew, Jerry Archuleta and niece, Clara Lopez.  Special Thanks to DeVargas Funeral Home, El Mirador Home Healthcare, Ambercare and Presbysterian Health Care for the care of our beloved Mother.
