Diane Ortiz

Diane M. Ortiz, 55, a resident of Cuyamungue, went to her place of rest on Monday, July 16, 2018 following a lengthy illness. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Reynaldo and Leonardita “Nora” Roybal; brothers, Eddie, Horacio, Adan “Dan” and David Roybal (Cecilia); brothers-in-law, Sam Gonzales, Ruben Manzanares and Martin Trujillo; father-in-law, Roberto Ortiz and brother-in-law, Andrew Ortiz. Diane loved life, especially spending time with her grandkids. Her family was everything to her. She always looked forward to the annual trip to Laughlin with her hon, sisters and brother. There is so much that will be missed: her infectious smile and laugh, her soothing touch and her willingness to listen. She became a confidant to many as she had everyone’s utmost trust. Diane showed us what strength is and what it means. She pushed through so much pain while remaining positive and comforting to those around her. Diane is survived by her husband, Edwin Ortiz; children, Sonya Ortiz and Nathan Ortiz (Annissa); grandchildren, Phillip, Candace and Gabrian; mother-in-law, Jennie Ortiz; siblings, Loyola Trujillo, Norma Vigil (Ernie), MaryLou Lujan (Rosendo), Jean Gonzales, Michael Roybal (Jean), Melva Manzanares, Philly Joe Roybal, Sandra Roybal, Gerard Roybal, Peter Roybal and Leo Roybal (Monica); brothers and sisters-in-law; Ronnie Ortiz, Roberta Ortiz-Webber (Bill), Elaine “Peaches” Valerio (Earl), Elizabeth “BD” Ortiz, Rita Manzanares (Herman), Chris Ortiz (Michelle), Charles Ortiz and Suzanna Ortiz; God-children, Chris Ortiz, Jared Tapia, Marquette Quintana and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. The family of Diane M. Ortiz has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
