Dennis O'Brien

Dennis O’Brien Sr., passed away on April 28th, 2021 in El Paso, Tx. Dennis was born on July 27, 1954 in Ensenada, NM. He spent the majority of  his life serving the community of Espanola and eventually moved to El Paso, Tx.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine (Nannie) and Willie Sanchez; his sister, JoyLynn O’Brien; his nieces and nephews, Francine, Sarah and Matthew Blea, and Chrystal Bustos. He is survived by his siblings, Robert Velasquez, Wanda Blea, Sarah Jean Pack; his children, Dennis Jr., Heather and Andres O’Brien; his stepchildren; Faye Duran, Chris and Kimberly Martinez; his grandchildren, Abrem, Aleah,  Alanah, Brittany, Alexis, Chris, MiaBella and Jocelyn; his great grandchildren, Arah, Athena, Nylah, DeAndre and D’Angelo Jr; his nephews Joseph Blea and Nathan Velasquez; in addition to, other relatives and many friends.

Dennis was very active in community roles though out the years. Some of these roles included serving in the Jaycee’s, Fiesta President, Don Juan de Onate, and most recently lead the Espanola Farolito Project.

Dennis’s joy came from helping others. His goal in life was to make a positive impact on people’s lives and do good. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, May 13th, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Truth Ministries Calvary Chapel. (18496 Highway 85/285, Espanola, NM). The service will also be broadcasted for remote viewing on zoom or Facebook. (The link will be provided prior to the service on FB)

Friends and family are invited to attend to honor the memory of our father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend.
