DELFIN GARCIA , 87, a resident of El Guache, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorene Mondragon; son, Richard Garcia; grandson, Fabian Velarde; granddaughters, Reina Martinez and Crystal Maestas; son-in-law, Alex Mondragon; parents, Pedro and Beroniz Garcia; brothers, Amado, Audoro and Abelino Garcia and in-laws, Juan and Raquel Salazar. Daddy loved his family and was always positive and happy for everyone. His wife Virginia was the love of his life and together they enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, getting wood, family reunions and entertaining themselves at the Ohkay Casino. We will never forget your jokes! Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Garcia; children, Sandra Maestas (Larry), Karen Gallegos, Cathy Martinez (Tony), Diane Gallegos (Jackie) and Dale Garcia; daughter-in- law, Cindy Garcia; grandchildren, LuAnn Maestas, Francella Montoya, Loretta Mondragon, Monique Romero, Janice Gallegos, JoVanna Martinez, Faith Gallegos, Myriah Gallegos, Haley Lopez, Sammy Maestas, Leo Maestas, Rick and Orlando Garcia, Levi Gallegos, Joel Martinez, Eric Martinez, Peter Velarde, Jacob Velarde, Christopher and Nicholas Garcia; sisters, Mary Salazar (Willie), Teresa Trujillo (Armando) and Eufelia Garcia (Pedro); brothers, Emilio Garcia (Martha), Rudy Garcia (Emily), Roy Garcia (Geri) and Johnny Garcia (Lucy); 31 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. also at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez. Burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Rick Garcia, Orlando Garcia, Sammy Maestas, Leo Maestas, Joel Martinez, Levi Gallegos, Eric Martinez and Fernando Loera. Honorary pallbearers named are, Christopher Garcia, Nicholas Garcia, Peter Velarde, Jacob Velarde and James Barela. The family of Delfin Garcia has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
