Deacon Diego A. Herrera, a resident of Espanola, New Mexico formerly of Los Ancones, Diego was born June 20, 1929, and he gained his wings on Jan 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Edith G. Herrera. His parents Jacobo and Senovia Herrera, his sons Harry J. Herrera, Ronnie Herrera, and great-grandson Diego Ezekiel Salazar. Sisters- Mary and Abelino Aragon, Frances and Leo Ortiz, Tila and Sydney Seitz, Ida Giron. Brothers- Joe Herrera, Jake Herrera, Gilbert Herrera, and Bailon Herrera. He is survived by his only daughter Lila and Son in law Phil Romero, and only son Steve Herrera. He leaves behind his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and all of his beloved friends. Diego was a retired educator for the Espanola Valley School district. His ministries of 25 years of deaconship allowed him to serve in his communities that he loves dearly. He was loved by the people he knew and grew to love. Diego will be greatly missed. Due to an abundance of caution there will be no public services for Diego A.
