CARL JOE LOPEZ PADILLA “LIL WEST”, 35 a resident of Hernandez, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 30, 2020. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Elena Gallegos, grandmother, Susan and Belteran Batista (El Cubano); uncle, Johnny Gallegos; cousins, Jacob, Charlie, baby Michael Maestas, Luis Ramirez, Robert and Adolfo Chavez and his aunt Leona Padilla and Eva Ortega. He is survived by his parents, Geraldine Lopez and Carl Padilla; wife, Donavine Martinez; children, Brandon, Dominick, Dante, Noah, and Elena Lopez, and Lil Johnny; siblings, Belinda Lopez (Chris), Susie Lopez (Luis),  Serenity Padilla, James Lopez, Cruzito, Jesus Muniz, Anthony DeVargas, close cousins who were like brothers, Jose “Prim” Herrera, Jesus “Elmo” Adujo, close friend who was like a brother, CJ Marquez; Arinna Mendez, Johniqua DeVargas, and Desiree Martinez; nephews and nieces, Johnpaul and Chris Jr. Lopez, Deigo Baca, Ezra Manzanares, Brian Lopez, Jaron Rodriguez, Catrina, Tana, Anika, Julissa, Anngelic, Marisol McKaylah; aunts and uncles, Nina Joann Maestas, Nino Michael Maestas, Veronica Batista, Evarsto and wife Denise  Lopez, Willie Batista, Stephanie DeVargas; paternal grandparents, Leo and Berlene Padilla; aunts and uncles, April Padilla and (Norman), Connie Chavez (Ronnie), Angelo Padilla (Marsha), Leo Jr. and Max Padilla. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Espanola, with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. also at Victory Faith Church, with a burial to follow at Loma Vista Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Chris Manzanares, Luis Mendez, James and Johnpaul Lopez, Jose “Prim” Herrera, Jesus “Elmo” Adujo, Cruzito and Jesus Muniz, Xavier Gurule, Andrew “Rabbit” Lopez, Nate Heffner, Dylan Martinez and Steve Gurule, honorary pallbearers named are All his nephews and nieces Vicente Maestas and Bobbyjo Maestas, Isaac Pana, Chris Chavez, Crystal, Adrienne, Tanya Lopez, Cruz Lopez Baca, Rica Rodriguez, Angel Padilla, and Jesus Andujo. Lil West was loved by many friends who considered him a brother. In lieu of flowers family is requesting donations be made to DeVargas Funeral Home.
