Bonifacio P. Benavidez , born May 30, 1947 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late George and Profiria Benavidez. Bonifacio was called to be with our lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021 after a short illness.

Bonifacio is proceeded in death by his parents George and Profiria Benavidez; sisters, Margaret Benavidez, Josie Suazo, Barbara Bernal and Terri Benavidez; his ex-wife, Rosa A. Benavidez; grandson, baby Aaron Benavidez; brother, Johnny Benavidez and brother-in-law Paul Bernal.

Boni was a loving father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, music and playing his instruments. Boni enlisted into the Army at the young age of 16, where he served his Country in the Vietnam War. Boni was the most open hearted and loving man, he was always willing to help every and anyone at any time. Bonifacio truly was the example that every man should be!

Bonifacio is survived by his wife, Rosemary Benavidez; sons, Phillip and George Benavidez, Ricardo Herrera, (Pamela) Noah Herrera; daughters, Theresa Benavidez (Mario), Arielle Herrera (Matthew); grandchildren, Phillip Benavidez (Billy), Jehoran Quintana, Kimberly Trujillo (Fabian), Leeann Quintana (JP), Kaitlyn Lovato, Ian Lovato, LaJon Natacio, Marissa Gallegos (Freddie), Isaiah Salazar, Raphael Herrera, Juan Herrera, Sonrisa Herrera, Nathaniel Herrera and Patrick Morrison; great-grandchildren, Analisa, Dominic, Aliah, Renesa, Noah, Eidan, and AriaRose; godson, Rick Chavez (Nadine); goddaughter, Kayla Benavidez (Antonio); special niece, Antonia Clark (Josh); brothers, Benny Benavidez, Gabriel Benavidez(Carmella), Joseph Benavidez; sister, Diane Bustos (Micheal); many close friends, nieces, nephews, and other special godchildren.

Boni had four special pets, (cats) Cleo, Guero, (dogs) Chloe and Jax also known as “The Bouncer “.

Public visitation will begin on October 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home with a Memorial to follow at 12:00 p.m. also in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will take place on November 3, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery

Serving as pallbearers; Ricardo, Rick, Phillip, Raphael, Juan and Jehoran. Honorary pallbearers; grandchildren, great grandchildren and godchildren.
