ANTONIA (ANTONINA) GARCIA, 91, a longtime resident of Hernandez, passed away of Natural Causes on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Garcia; son, Fernando “Ferna” Garcia; 4 grandsons, Patrick Martinez Jr., Steve Garcia, John “Manz” Lucero and Alvin “Bino” Martinez; son-in-law, Fidel “Fiddles” Martinez; parents, Macedonio and Soledad Velasquez; 2 sisters, Clorinda Salazar and Estefanita Gonzales, 3 brothers, Max, Natividad and Gomisindo Velasquez. She is survived by her children, Rosita Martinez, Leroy Garcia (Linda) of Hernandez Isaac Garcia (Lucy) of Espanola, Jane Sandoval (George) of Hernandez, Irene Romero (Lee), of Truchas, Anthony Garcia (Ted) of Albuquerque, Anita Guerra (Cruz), Vicky Martinez (Jesus), and Manuel Garcia (Elvia) all of Espanola; daughter-in-law, Brenda Garcia of El Rito; brother, Abelino Velasquez of La Jara, Colorado; sister-in-law, Beatrice Perea (Fermin) of El Guache; brother-in-law, John Garcia (Dorothea) from Utah, 20 grandchildren, Charlene Padilla (David), Ross Garcia (Alberta), Matthew Garcia (Leona), Isaac Garcia Jr. (Krystal), Jason Garcia, Cory Lewis (Tracey), Vanessa Garcia (Jerry), Tiffany Gonzales (John), Sara Sandoval (Jose), Juanito Sandoval (Christie), Julie Lovato (Arnold ), Valerie Montoya (Eric), Lee Romero Jr. (Kat), Gerald Espinoza Jr. (Gabby), Crystal Espinoza (Josh), Tanya Espinoza (Adan), Daisy Sanchez (Aaron), Elisa Garcia (Nick), Horacio Garcia (Cassandra), and Antonio “Ton” Garcia; 2 step-grandchildren, Jessica Cochiola (Josh), Amanda Foust (Chris), 51 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; God-children, Sara Sandoval, Jason Garcia, Olivia Gallegos and Lori Garcia; special nieces, Diane Trujillo and husband Marvin, Lorraine Gonzales, Ruth Quintana, Abelina Martinez, Rosabelle Delgado, special nephew, Leandro Martinez; Daughter and main care giver, Jane and George Sandoval, other caregivers, Elaine Martinez, Antonia Jacquez, Linda Garcia, Timia Sanchez and special a thanks to Denise Fallwell NP, Dr. Kathleen Maley and Ideal Home Healthcare and DeVargas Funeral Home & Staff. Public Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, with a burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery in Hernandez. Serving the family as pallbearers are, Leroy Garcia, Isaac Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Manuel Garcia, George Sandoval, and Lee Romero, honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren.
