Angelita Chacon

ANGELITA CHACON , 88, a longtime resident of El Ojo, by Coyote, went to be with our Heavenly Father, peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. She entered the world on July 31, 1931 to Gregorio and Isabel Espinoza in Tierra Amarilla. She was preceded in death by her father, Gregorio Espinosa; mother, Isabel Casias Espinoza; husband, Guzman Chacon; brothers, George, Pablo, Manuel and Andres; sisters, Martina, Victoriana and Nestora. Angelita was a loving, caring and devout Catholic and most giving person that enjoyed crafting, helping others and visiting with many friends. She loved spending time with all her family and playing with great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is loved by her family, relatives and many friends. She will be missed dearly but leaves behind many memories to cherish. Mrs. Chacon is survived by her children, Francisco (RaeAnn) Chacon, Ivan (Pauline) Chacon, Marie (JB) Chacon, Midge (Gigi) Chacon; a nephew she raised, Joe (Jody) Sanchez; grandchildren, Camille (Lee) Chacon, Kimberly (Andres) Duran, Antoinette (Blake) Robinson, Neil Chacon, Denise Chacon, Desiderio (Adrienne) Chacon, Guzman (Anita) Chacon and Pablo (Joscelyn) Chacon; great-grandchildren, Alyssa (Ronnie) Chavez, Justin Duran, Damian Duran, Briana Chacon, Kenyon Chacon, Sawyer Chacon, Elias Chacon, Diego Chacon, Ramon Chacon and Aleyana Baca; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Mariah and Maison Campbell and Kashton Chavez. She was also a Godmother to numerous godsons and goddaughters. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Juan Bautista Church in Coyote with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. also at the San Juan Bautista Church in Coyote. Burial will follow at the Coyote Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Andres Duran, Neil Chacon, Desiderio Chacon, Pablo Chacon, Guzman Chacon, Damian Duran and Justin Duran. Honorary pallbearers named are, Briana, Kenyon, Sawyer, Aleyana, Diego, Ramon, Mariah, Maison, Elias and Kashon.
Due to the requirements of COVID-19, masks are mandatory and only a limited amount of people will be allowed to remain in the chapel and in the church for services. The family will also be practicing social distancing during public visitation and respectfully will not be having a condolences line. The family of Angelita Chacon has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
