Wilfredo Quintana

\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Willie Quintana, age 79, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. He was a devoted Catholic with the Santa Cruz de la Cañada Church in Santa Cruz and a member of various organizations. Willie was born in Espanola to the late Joe E. and Lugardita Quintana, and worked as a painter for 45 years in Los Alamos. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ernestine Maestas. Willie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Stella; children, Linda Atencio, Steve and wife Carmen, Judith Poshard and husband Howard, Loriann and fiancee Gene Martinez, Danny, Darren and wife Melissa. Also surviving him is his brother, Mike and wife Joan; sister, Patsy and husband Leroy, and brother-in-law, Sixto Maestas; grandchildren, Jeff and wife Melissa Atencio, Andrew Atencio, Derick Quintana, Melissa Bustos, Mariah Chavez, and Adrianna and Jeremy Quintana. Willie held a very special place in his heart for Larry Atenico, son-in-law. He leaves behind several precious great-grandchildren, Angelica, Aaron, Alejandro, Analeez, and Ezekiel Atencio, Andres Atencio, Keanna Quintana, and the youngest great-grandchild, Trinity Hope Whittington. Willie had a special love for his family and will be greatly missed. There were many nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him tremendously. Willie was loved by many special friends who shared his joy in bowling, fishing and the outdoors. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory; a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church; burial will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Jeff and Andrew Atencio, Derick Quintana, Melissa Bustos, Tommy Maestas and Eric Quintana. Honorary pallbearers will be all grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
