Virginia - Age 89 - El Rito - Gonzales

Virginia Gonzales, age 89, was called home by the Lord as she was surrounded by her family on Monday, April 19, 2010. Virginia was a life long resident of El Rito. She is preceded in death by her parents, Abenicio and Piedad Baldonado; son, Raymond; her husband of 62 years, Frank Gonzales; grandchildren, Kimberly, Melissa, Kendal Gonzales and Mary Lynn Gallegos. Virginia leaves behind her children, Aureliano Gonzales and wife Geraldine; Frances Archuleta and husband George. Bennie Madrid and husband Ponciano, all of El Rito; grandson, Melvin Madrid raised like a son, of Rio Rancho; granddaughter, Cassandra Martinez who took care of her for many years. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and special nephew and niece, Matthew Baldonado and Elva Montoya; brother, Abran Baldonado and wife Dorothy; sister, Magdalena Herrera; sisters-in-law, Eva and Benita Baldonado and Anita Aldaz; brother-in-law, Vicente Gonzales and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Friday, April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church, burial will follow at the El Rito North Community Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Johnny Salazar, Mark Gonzales, Glenn and James Archuleta, Melvin, Julian and Shawn Madrid. Honorary pallbearers are: Matthew Baldonado, Joe Aldaz, Esequiel Baldonado, Raymond Jaramillo, Carlos and Jimmy Gonzales and all her grandchildren.
