Vicenta T. Age - 75 - El Rito Martinez

VICENTA T. MARTINEZ, 75, a resident of El Rito, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Trinidad Trujillo; adoptive mother, Perfecta Martinez; infant son, Robert Martinez; husband of 50 years, Daniel I. Martinez; adoptive brother and father figure, Abran Martinez and wife Eduvigen; sisters: Valdenia Martin, Josefa and husband Valentin Leyba; mother-in-law, Adelina Martinez; sister-in-law/brother-in-law, Lucia and Melaquis Sisneros and nephew, Donald Sisneros. She was a homemaker and devoted Catholic. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and going to Bingo and the casino with her late husband, Daniel Martinez. She was a longtime resident of El Rito and a devoted parishioner of San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Marvin Martinez of Española, Cecilia Martinez of Santa Fe, Robert Martinez, Elisiada Holterman and husband Daniel and Ricardo ‘Rick” Martinez all of El Rito; grandchildren, Patrick and Lawrence Holterman and AnnRica and Tessa Martinez; close family friend, Bernadette Diaz of La Puebla; nephews, Gilbert Sisneros of Colorado Springs, CO; Rudy Sisneros; and nieces: Betty Chamberlain of Grand Junction, CO, Eutimia Sandoval of Española; and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. also at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Burial to follow at the El Rito Community Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Robert and Ricardo Martinez, Patrick Holterman, Ernest Leyba, Albert Diaz and Danny Martinez.
