Velma Jordan, 83, born November 19, 1933, a resident of Española passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents; 16 siblings, and daughters, Edna Chelf, Beverly and Brenda Carter. The youngest of 17, born to parents Alex and Mattie Jordan in Mississippi. Velma leaves behind, Doloris Jackson and husband Eddie of Española, Mary Thomas and husband Charles of Albuquerque, Linda Walker of Phoenix, AZ, Willie Carter of Española, Sherry Carter of Española; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. on at the First Indian Baptist Church in Española. The family of Velma Jordan has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
