Vanessa Nicole Trujillo, age 38, a resident of Chimayo, NM passed away unexpectedly on 8-13-2025.

Vanessa Nicole Trujillo was born on June 22, 1987, in Los Alamos, NM, to Liana Trujillo and Johnny Trujillo. Vanessa grew up in Chimayo, NM, until the age of 10, then moved to Coyote, NM, where she attended Coronado High School and graduated in 2005. She moved back to Chimayo, NM after high school and remained there throughout her adult life. Vanessa worked as a home health caregiver. She had a compassionate heart for helping the sick and elderly. She found joy in helping her grandfather Severo feed his cows when she was a young girl. She also enjoyed helping him round cattle and ride horses. Animals always held a special place in Vanessa's heart. She helped her father Johnny feed his animals when he needed help due to illness. In the Summers she helped her grandpa Johnny tend to his garden. She also loved helping her grandma Gevei and her aunts make dozens of tortillas for the family. She was strong in her faith, knew the Bible well, and loved visiting the Santuario to pray. She was a great cook and a great artist. She loved to draw and paint beautiful landscapes and flowers using acrylic paints. Her love for art started in High School and remained throughout her life. Vanessa was very intelligent, hardworking, and loving. She was always willing to lend a hand to anybody who needed it.

Vanessa will be remembered for her compassionate heart toward others, sense of humor, and her charm.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her father Johnny Trujillo, stepfather Donald Trujillo, maternal grandmother and grandfather Severo and Dolores Ortega of Coyote, paternal grandfather Amarante (Johnny) Trujillo of Potrero, aunts Cindy and Tracey Trujillo, stepsister April Martinez, and Cousin Harold Jr. Trujillo.

Vanessa is survived by her mother Liana, children Analyssa, Richie, and Matteo whom she loved with all her heart, brothers Johnny (Sueanne), Raymond (Crystal), and Joseph. Sister Madelene and stepsister Rosie. Nieces Savanah, Amaya, and nephew Lucas. Stepmother Darlene, paternal grandmother Gevei Trujillo, aunts, Lisa (Martin), Yvette (Manuel), Uncle Harrold (Diane) and many other cousins, great aunts, uncles, and extended family.

A Rosary will be held in Chimayo, NM, at the Holy Family Parish in Chimayo, NM, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025,  at 1:00 pm, Mass at 2:00 pm, followed by burial at El Potrero Cemetery.
